'Jarwa' maroon Varanasi silk brocade kurta draws its silhouette from the 'kediya', a garment worn in Gujarat noted for its gathered and flared silhouette. It features an all-over geometric placement of archival floral butas, woven with the elaborate Kadwa technique where each motif is woven individually utilizing an extra weft insertion, and the reverse of the textile reveals the absence of thread floats. It is paired with the 'Dhaur' brocade salwar.
