KUKAS

Originally a turban craft rooted in the celebration of monsoon, Laheriya is a tie-dye tradition from Rajasthan. The animation inherent in dyed stripes results in a sense of movement akin to rainfall.

‘Kukas’ kota silk sari features the 'Mothda' pattern (named after 'dal moth' or a grain of dal), which refers to small checks created by overlapping Laheriya stripes. Gulabi pink chevron stripes overlap the contrasting green stripes to form a checkered pattern. This sari is reversible and either end of the textile can form the palla.

This handwoven textile reflects natural variations within yarn, color, weave and/or embroidery.
